The issue at hand is whether a smart friend is much better than a friend with good sense of wit. This is an important issue because friends are the most significant influencer in my life. Since I spent most of my time with friends and they can be affected to me, it is very important to choose a influential friend in my life. I believe friends who are humorous are much better than those with good knowledge because of following reasons. To start with, friends who are funny can be very helpful while we study. Whenever I am weary and stressful due to my school works, I can feel much better and release my stress because of my entertaining friends. They can make me to laugh and clap often with high mood. The time with them could be a great time for me to take a break from my study. For instance, when I was in middle school, one of my best friends had a good sense of humor. Everytime when I failed my grade or had problems in school, she made me to feel much better by telling witty stories and practical jokes that I enjoyed a lot. I can not deny to say that she is almost same as a comedian. She always changed my tear and irritableness to happiness and joy. Due to her good personality, I could study well and stay on track when I was in middle school. If I didn't meet her during my life in middle school, I might even be in a serious problem right now. In addition, I can be more independent by having friends who are funny. If I have a intelligent friend besides me, I will probably ask my friend about things that I didn't understand in my class or while I do my homework. Even though it is very convenient for me to have a friend who are instructive and knowledgable next to me, I will be more dependent to her as the time goes by. I might even let her do all of my homework and not try to find the answer of my question myself by using many resources such as books or internet. To be specific, in my school, I once had a group project to do in my science class. It was about observing trees and writing a report about it. However, a friend who got the best grade in my school was one of my group members. In the process of the project, all the members including me was very frustrated since we didn't know anything about trees, but the smart friend wasn't. So, we all let her do the project herself. We just depended on her while we do the project. In this respect, smart friend can make me more dependent and not do my duties well such as homework or project. In conclusion, I believe silly friends can be much beneficial and effective to me. They can make me to be independent and help me to feel better whenever I am in a sad mood. Determining whether a friend is obliging and helpful in my life is the most important consideration when choosing a friend. |
