Those who consider that the number of sorces has a positive correlation with the precisity of information might agree the statement that people must obtain information from various news sourse to acquire well-infomed things. However, I disagree with the issue. There are two major aspect: to cost of deciding good information among different media and to feel confused during searching information through same media but diffrent company.
First, when it comes to costing people time to deciding whether good information is, many different news source are not benefitial to people. Some people might think that the variety of news sources cause people to have more choices to more correct information. However, almost all people should not always compare T.V with Internet media. As society is getting more complex, people has no time to discern who lier is or not. Who can read or watch all T.V news and internet news? In addition, free news source tend to give information about sex, sports, and scandle. Because free news service companies gain a profit not from fee but from advertisement, they attract readers attention through sensational things. This infomration is definitely not well-informed information.
Moreover, as far as consuming time to decide whether information is correct among the same media is concerned, various news sources in the same media cause people to be confused. In a sense, it is true that various news source in the same ways encourage people to compare what each companies say. However, from forcing specific point of views to advertising particualr company, diffrent news source make people being nonclear even though among the same media. For example, NewsWeeks has a tendancy to agree with the issue Democrat people agree with. On the contrary, Times’ articles often pursue Republican claim. The diffrent views make it for people to feel confused since people do not know what is the true. The purpose of media is not to give the true information but to brainwash to their opinion in that this action attract more people to their readers. Besides, in the same media, compaies’ competition is getting more strong to acquire advertisements from other corporations. Thus, some news related to specific company’s profit are biased on the ground that the news media company make a gain from ‘specific company’. In this procedure, doubting what news company say, readers can feel confused.
In conclusion, I strongly disagree with statement that various news source make people well-infomed. It is through several property among other media and among other company in the same media, people can feel confused. |
