These days, famous athletes and entertainers get the million-dollar salaries. Some people criticize them that they don't deserve to receive that tremendous amount of money. However, I firmly believe that they are qualified to get that amount of money because they are competent enough and also produce more value of wealth.
First, famous athletes and entertainers have more outstanding competence in each specific field than usual people. Some of them get their abilities genetically and others get them through their efforts. They try and try to become the best. They go through very difficult and hard process which people cannot imagine. For example, figure-skater Yu-na Kim who won the World Grandprix championship said she practiced for 14 hours every day. Also, she has surprising ability to express her emotions while she acts. Like this, famous athletes and entertainers, including her, deserve to get much salaries enough.
Furthermore, they produce more value of wealth. They earn lots of money through advertisement, ticket incomes for their performances or matches and fan-products. They bring huge incomes for the companies which athletes and entertainers belong to, therefore they should get much more salaries than common people. For instance, there is the most popular and intelligent basketball player in Korea Basketball league. His name is Lee sang min. He has been selected the most popular player for All-star games for many years. Regardless of the team, people become the fan of the team because he is in it. Owing to him, the team earns lots of money for tickets and fan-products. Therefore, Lee sang min deserves to get high salary. Actually he does.
To summarize, famous athletes and entertainers deserve to get remarkable amount of money because they are special. People should not envy them and laugh at them. People should encourage them and help them express their full competency positively. |
