Most advertisements make products seem much better than they really are.Do you agree or disagree with the statement? |
Thesedays, many companies try to do their best to make better commercials for their products. Some people argue over whether products seem much better than they actually are in most advertisements or not. I support the idea that most advertisements make products seem much better than they really are because of two reasons: How many products are sold is depend on how well the companies advertise, and the other reason is that the commodities they sell should look better than other companies'.
First of all, advertisements afffect greatly on sale of companies. It is obvious that the most important reason to advertise is to increase firm's sales. According to a recent research held in Korea Advertisement Association, companies responded that they try to use computer grahic or other technology on advertisement as much as possible to attract people's attetion for the commodities. This research proves that companies make their products look better they actually are because they know how commercials affect on their sales.
In addition, companies have to compete with other companies for their products by advertising. They all know that consumers will choose the products which they think better in advertisement. For instance, if there are two new cellphones from different firms, I would choose the one that I have good information and know some advantages about it from commericals. To make a difference from other companies, some of them hire popular stars so that people would be interested in the products they advertise. Thus, companies make products seem greater because they have to win from copetition with other companies.
In conclusion, I strongly agree with the statement that most commercials try to make commodities look better than they really are because of the mainly two reasons I mentioned above. First, better looking advertisement attract more people because it affects companies sales. Second, companies have to compete with other companies to sell more products.
