There is an argument whether subjects like art, music and drama should be one of the child’s major subjects. Many people believe that children should focus on studying some academic subjects such as math or science. However, in my opinion, learning art, music, and drama is as important as learning math and science. In this essay, I will present two reasons to support my opinion.
First of all, children need to enhance their ability to feel something emotional in many ways. Math and science only provide important facts and academic theories without emotion. For children, it is important to feel art to become people who have a right way of thinking with emotion. For example, children who listen to music and absorb it inside them could expand their width of feeling and emotion. So, they begin to be thankful to small things, and feel sorry about bad things.
My second reason is that children have more opportunity to find their aptitude. Children need to be exposed to many opportunities because they have many possibilities in many areas. If children don’t have a music or art class, and only have a math or science class, it is very limited for children to find their interests. They have to make themselves like that kinds of academic subjects even though they are unwilling to do that. It could be ruined the children’s future. As an example, children who have innate ability to act couldn’t figure out their aptitude if they don’t learn drama in school. And then, the students maybe try to make math be their aptitude, but this doesn’t seem to be a right way for children.
In conclusion, I agree with the statement that subject such as art, music and drama should be one of the child’s major subjects. As I mentioned above, children should strengthen their capability to feel something emotional in many ways, and they also need to have many opportunities to find their aptitude. |
