There might be different opinions whether cars have had a greater effect on society than planes have.
However, I certainly agree that cars have had more impact on society than planes have for the following reasons. First, the broad use of cars far outweighs that of planes. Moreover. the convenience of cars is unmatchable.
To begin with, the widespread use of cars far outweighs that of planes. Nowadays, cars are not the sole possession for privileges or the rich anymore. In reality, planes are rarely used by low-income people and normaly used for special businesses or travels which barely occur in daily life. Cars, however, have become a necessity for a number of people regardless of their age or social standards. According to a study released by the Korean National Research Center, 93% of Koreans own at least one car. This means most people can afford a car and think of it as a must in their life. They use car no matter where they live, what they are.
Furthermore, cars are unmatchably convenient. No one can deny that cars are easy to learn and drive. They also have shortened certain access people need to go. To take America for example, a person of over 16 can have a driver's license since American is an extremely huge country. Students use cars to go to school and workers commute to their workplace. Driving a car is fairly easy that even my Grandmother drives when going shopping. When it comes to planes, however, not only a high cost of boarding pass but also an extremrly well trained pilot is required.
In summary, I definitely agree that cars have had more effect on society than planes have. The prevalant use of cars far outweighs that of planes. In addition. the convenience of cars is unmatchable. I personally think that the use of cars will never be taken place by planes unless planes can be incredibly safe and cheap. This is not going to happen at least a century. |
