There is a controversial argument concerning whether movies show a lot of aspects about a country. Although some people claim that movies cannot tell about a country because movies are composed of unrealistic stories that can distort the real country, I believe that movies can depict a country in various ways. In this essay, I will present two reasons supporting my idea.
Moreover, people may figure out numerous distinctive cultures of a country by seeing lifestyles of people in the movies. Although movies are made up stories, directors make it as realistic as possible based on the real situations in order to make movies lively and enable people to concentrate on the stories. For example, when I first watched the western movie, I was surprised to see people entering houses with their shoes on. Later, by asking my brother, I learned that people in the western countries do not take off their shoes when entering the house. From that day, I could understand the differences between many countries as well as cultures of western countries. In this sense, I believe that movies show cultures of a country.
Moreover, movies include sceneries of a country. Since the background of the movies are a country's scenery, people may watch a country's buildings, famous streets and natures. For example, although I have never been to Japan, I know how Japan looks like after watching a series of Japan movies. Relatively low buildings because of frequent earthquakes and the sceneries of Huji mountain was impressive. Also, I could how the famous street Harajuku looks like by watching Japan movies. In this regard, I believe people can watch sceneries of a country when watching movies.
To summarize, I am strongly convinced that movies tell numerous aspects of a country on account of the reasons I mentioned above: not only movies show cultures of a country but also sceneries of a country. As movie industry is expanding, people are expecting to see a broad aspects of other countries. |
