First of all, you can relieve stress by talking with friends sharing problems. In specific, by meeting friends and talking about the things that cause you problems, you can get sympathy and comfort from them and get relaxed. Also, this might be why psychologists exist at all. Psychologists can listen to your problem, and you’ll get relaxed about your problem. Even if the psychologist might not advise you anything, you’ll feel comforted just because you know that someone is listening to you. Also, according to a survey, most people responded that they preferred staying with other people and that they felt more relieved when someone was listening to them.
In addition to that, many group activities can make you forget about the worries you have. Or the group activity can make you solve the problem in some cases. Group activities often require you to concentrate and participate, which would distract you from the worry. For example, when I had a problem with my best friend, I was worried that our relationship might not be recovered forever. When some of my other friends noticed that we were not together anymore, they advised me to join a debate club in which my best friend was also participating. By working in group, we just had to talk to each other because everyone was required to participate in debate. We finally apologized to each other, and recovered.
