A lot of controversy exists over weather the new media provides people with credible information or not
Although many TV programs and newpapers pretend to be unbiased and accurate estabilishing the Broadcast Ethic commision, I see the distorsions in their coverage or reporting. There are two main reasons: the news media has its own stakes and it tries to make stories look more sensational.
First, given that it is related to it own stakeholders, the new-> news media is untrustworthy.
even though the basic purpose of the new media is to inform people with the facts of events, the media often mention their opinion as a new commentary under guaranteeing liberty of speech (freedom).-> they express their own opinion through commentaries and biased reports, claiming their freedom under liberty of speech.
This opinion can be affected by a major corporation's intrest, which own a new pubilisher and a broadcasting station. Not only that but they also have to side with their adertiser and nations' profit-> national benefit. The best example of this is the Irap War-> the war in Iraq. When the war broke out, a-> the majority of the media in the Unite State-> States portrayed the war as a way to attain world peace. On the contrary with this, countries against the Unite States mainly showed on-the-spot broadcasts of brutal scenes that depicted the Unite States as a ruthless invader. The difference in news converage of the war plainly highlights how pratical and biased news companies are.
-> Good example and cohesive development. The grammars that I have corrected should not be overlooked.
In a ddition, the new paper are not reliable as it attempts to make the content of the new more colorful and dramastic.-> colorful means literally colorful. dramastic(x) - dramatic(o) -> content of the news are often exaggerated and written dramatically. This is mainly because they want to make a profit by assuring subscription to some degree so that they attract more advertiser. (같은내용 반복)Although it seems to work for the public intersts, we know that it is only one of private companies which have to survive in a compatitive society.-> 흥미유발에 좋지만, 사실을 전달해야한다는 본질에 적합하지 않다. 라는 논리전개가 이루어져야지, 흥미유발에 좋지만, 우리는 그것이 회사가 살기위한 전략임을 안다. 라는 결론이 나오면 방향이 틀어집니다. From using sensational picture or video clips to distorting-> distort the contents of the news, there are many ways to draw in viewer or readers.
For example, last year a broadcasting station reported that Kimchi was produced in very unhealthy and dirty environments, but the truth was that a certain Kimchi company did it-> was produced in 이라는 표현자체에는 모든 회사들이 전부~라는 의미가 담겨져 있지 않습니다. 따라서 was frequently being produced 라든지, was largely produced 라든지 구체적인 뉘앙스를 넣어주면 좋을것 같습니다.
-> but the truth was that a certain Kimchi company did it-> but the truth was that it was only a minor fault of a small company. eport, many Kimchi business had to close down becuase people stoped buy kimchi for a while. It turned out that the reporter deliberately decieve the public to make a new.
In conclusion, because of the news media is concerned with its own stakeholers and tend to make stories more provocative to earn people's intrest, I firmly believe that the news media is an unreliable source of imformaion. |
