Learning about the past has no value for those of us living in the present. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. |
It was the most talked piece of issue that which one is more important between the past and present. Many have argued that being concentrating on the present outnumbers the advantages of the former in term of reality. However, my viewpoint stands against the many as the past brings invaluable merit of human life and it is the most fundamental base of being able to live in the present. To initiate, the past suggests a lump of ways people live their life wisely. That implies the reason why experts, students and any body study history of many different aspects of human life to get lessons from our forebears. World war I and II can be prominent examples. Most of the people all around the world know what the world wars are and how cruel the bloodshedding results were. Consequently, no one will ever find a person who thinks that "I am going to kill them off!", meaning a kind of war. What this illustration shows is that looking back has already become essential to people for a better life. In the expasion of the first claim, people unconciously learn from the past and then make a unintended choice when it comes to make decison, meaning that the past acts a cardinal role in enabling human-being to improve their life. To illustrate, one child is using a knife to cut to play with. At the moment, he hurt himself by mistake. Then, no one believes that the child will never ever grab a knife on his hand again. This point is differenitiated from the first one in that humans are intended by nature to use the past as a foundation to make the present and future better. To sum up, being aware of values of the past is, of course, important not only for the sake of the wisdom people get, but also for the naturally gained benefits. In this context, we should avoid denying the significance of the past, if not, ending up destroying and worsening human life. |
