Some people say that for improving the quality of education, it is the best way to increase teachers’ salaries; while others disagree to this. Although each has advantages and disadvantages, I personally agree with the above statement for two reasons. The first of all, if teachers’ payments increase, teachers would be responsible for teaching their students and concentrate on education only.
To begin with, if the teachers’ salaries rise, teachers would have the sense of responsibility for giving their student high quality of education. This is because they are able to prepare a lot of materials to help their student to understand more easily. For example, they would devote on making class materials using Power Point including many audio-visual materials, rather, they just read down the text book during the class; therefore, by doing so, students would be able to focus on their class. Moreover, teachers would make their students get daily homework done and check them next day, thus students can study consistently at school or at home.
In addition, teachers are able to concentrate stably on giving useful academic information to their students. According to the recent research, in thirty-seven percent of high school in Korea, the teachers were fighting for higher wages that is one of requirements for improving their state as teachers. The bigger the scale of struggle, the more teachers stopped teaching and began to join the strike. Consequently, students could not take courses regularly in their school and then most students among them were affected to enter the universities where they really desire to go.
In conclusion, it could be seen that there is the sense of responsibility among teachers who get high salaries. Moreover, teachers would be likely to reduce worries that they concern about school works. Concerning above two reasons, it is evident that people who do not believe increasing teachers’ salaries is the best way to improve the quality of education are mistaken. |
