Some people think that some secondary schools and colleges require students to work on group projects and all the students in the group receive the same grade is good way to evaluate. However, I have a diffrent idea. When it comes to the statement that when schools require students to work on group projects and all the students in the group are evaluated depends on their results, I strongly agree. The following are the specific reasons why I support this. First of all, students have many diffrences of intellegence, an ability to work on projects and enthusiasm of classes. It is hard to judge students in the group enquivalently in the wake of the group results. For example, all of the group project was perfect but the presenter mistook a lot during the presentation because the presenter did not prepare enough. In that case, other members would gain the panelty. It is definitely unfair to students. On top of that, if students are graded the same score as the members of the group, it causes the side effect: neglience. Let us now consider briefly. One of the group members do not try hard because the person think it does not evaluates how individual are good in a group. This way takes students passion of group projects. Last but not least, the thing that all the students in the group receive the equal grade when they work on group projects is a tough job to teachers or professors as well. In groups, they have a leader, presenters, the person preparing classes materials and researchers. If professor want to grade them, the professor has to ignore the individuals' efforts. To sum up, students each one have a gap of the ability to do group projects, someone in a group might not to try hard and it is intricate to evaluate all students in the group equally by ignoring the individuals' results. For these reason, I strongly disagree the idea that all the students in the group receive the same grade when doing group projects. |
