Since I'm only a high school student and eager to enter the college in Korea, I've heard so much fantasies about college life and people there. My aunt always brags about how her college life was the peak of her life. As far as I'm concerned, meeting new people and teachers as a grown up person would mean so much different from that I did during high school. To this extent, I somehow agree to the idea that the college years are the best time in a person's life, since college is a new beginning as a matured person, and also a place where numbers of events are continued.
Despite the Korea's standardized tests to enroll Korean colleges are so fierce and competitive, Korean students cannot easily let their "dreams" about their colleges go. The students stay up late like until 1 at night at academy studying. They wake up at 6 in the morning to get head to the school. Like this, high school students in Korea go through and repeat the same schedule everyday, just towards their future colleges. However fortuntaely, all their burdens and hardships during highschool are clearly rewarded once they enter college in Korea. It is because Korean colleges are not so difficult nor are they harsh just like the highschools. Korean colleges offer a lot activities, including outward bound camps, recreational events and so much more. I personally believe that these customs are possible since the upperclass men know how the freshmen students had suffered during highschool. Thus college years are enough to be said "rewarding years" for students and fervently desired especially in Korea.
Besides the speical characteristics of Korean colleges, another factor confirms that college years are best in one's life. It is that in college, students get to meet and experience with a lot and variety of people. This is definitely exciting and can also help one to get prepared for the future out in society. Meeting and communicating with people is one of the important skills that is also needed for when getting a job. Thus interacting with a lot of people as much as one can would be a good potential and also an exciting experience.
Clearly, human being goes through a various moment that means a lot to individuals. Yet, graduating from a teenger and shifting to a new society as a grown up and mature person would definitely thrilling! There is no doubt that college years are the beginning of new life for many people. Even though I haven't gone through that important stage, I'm so looking foward to have a great time in college in a year.
