It seems that receiving many advice will help one to learn about many things including life. However, I do not agree with the previous statement for the following two reasons: too much advice can make one confused. Also, people should learn about life and built one by themselves.
To begin with, too much advice and meddling will confuse one to learn about life. There is an old saying, ‘Too many cooks spoil the broth.’ Even before receiving the tons of advice, one is already cofused and curious about life. Since each person has different opinions about life, it is impossible to compromise all of them. For example, when I was in high school, I was torn between studying math and studying art. Everyone around me had their own opinions and when they gave me their advice, it was not that helpful. Actually, I was overwhelmed by them and confused even more. Eventually, after much thoughts, I made the decision to study math.
In addition, one should build their own ideas of life. One’s life cannot be built by others. Moreover, there is no accurate answer to the question: what is life? It is permanent question to all human beings and one should find the answer by his or her own. To illustrate, in my college years, one of philosophy professor assigned a homework. Students were supposed to find an answer of ‘what is the most important factor in life? - Happiness, health and money etc.’ Everyone had different values in their mind. It cannot be unified. At that time, I realized that everybody has their own conviction of life and it cannot be defined.
To conclude, to learn about life with the help of other people is impossible. First, too much opinions by individuals will make one even more confused. Furthermore, everybody has different ideas of life and it cannot be defined. One should acquire what life is by oneself. |
