People are often decieved by the things they see. Along with this trend, it has been a contentious issue as to whether or not one should judge a person by their external appearances. Thoroughly analyzing relevent examples of my rationale and my friend's case, it becomes quite clear that judging someone by their appearance is unfair.
First of all, appearance is often linked with heritary. In general, a parent who's tall, slim and beautiful is bound to give birth to a child who's tall, slim and beautiful! It is closely linked with inheritence, and although there may be some environmental aspects in shaping one's appearance, it does not play as much as a role as the genetics. Therefore, each one's appearance has often nothing to do with their personality. If we think it is ok to judge a person by their appearance, every unpleasant person should be dirty in the heart? For instance, here is a hypothetical case. According to the wrong statement I mentioned, a homeless person always should be badly tempered and filthy. However a celebrity must be so kind and sincere. Is this true? I think it is quite self-explanatory to say that it's nonsence. Therefore, judging my one's appearance is a foolish performance.
Secondly, my friend's case serves as an excellent example that shows why people should not judge a person by their outer frame. When my friend was a middle-schooler, she often had the habit of judging people by their external appearance. She would literally ignore those who she thought were "not good looking" or "pretty". She thought one's appearance reflected their personality, thinking ugly people were disgusting in the heart aswell. So, it turned out many of her friends were people claimed to be fair and beautiful. However, as time went by, and she got to know more about each one's personality, she was shocked. She found out that most of the time, one's inner spirit does not show on the outer surface. Truly, you never know what's hidden inside a person's mind, the most important aspect of a person. In short, it is not smart to judge a person by their appearance.
In conclusion, we have seen that how judging by one's external appearance is wrong. Both my rationale and my friend's case tells us so. |
