1. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? University students should take classes in many different subjects. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. |
This is controversial whether college students should only major in their own subjects or not. It is true that unrelated, various kind of subjects gives abundance of knowledge to students. But, as far as I`m concerned, I firmly believe that university students should take classes concerning the only subject that is related to their major. For the first reason for my opinion is that only specified, related subjects could make the student`s knowledge more vast, deep. This is because as unrelated classes increase, there would be less classes on their major, therefore students could not learn and experiment their majors. This means student have to get decreased knowledge about their major. For example, suppose that the university that got a success because of their curriculum which refers to `students must study their specified subjects.`. By specifying subject and not requiring elective courses, all of the university`s majors could be superior to those of others while other schools forced students to observe the strict rules which means `student should be provided with various subjects`. As a consequence, universities should only require students to specify their majors. Moreover, enabling students to study only their majors could save most of the facilities or something of no use such as two classrooms that are for the majoring students and the electively studying students. By reducing such facilities, university could create more money concerning experiments, welfare for students. To exemplify this, in particular, suppose that a local university which recklessly reduced their useless facilities so they could produced sports center, complex and supplied a lot of money which students spends for experiments. Most of the students are satisfied with the `useful` facilities and the money used for experiments. As a result, by enabling students to study only their majors so reduce facilities of no use and provide useful amenities, universities could be better for students. This is why I support my idea. All of these things into account, even though various subjects could get vast knowledge on different kind of subjects to students, I firmly suggest that requiring students to study only their majors could enhance overall qualities of universities and students. Not only does the only specified subject enhance qualities of the major, but the subject also increase university`s convenience and efficiency. |
