■ Question?Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Use specific reason and examples to support your answerTopic :ㄱ광고-> 사람이 쓸데없는거 사게만든다 agree/disagree When I just go outside, I could easily see various advertisements that are highlighted with beautiful lights, enticing me to make purchases. Even if I just lay down on a cozy sofa, I could watch or hear advertisements in a radio or a TV. However, the more people have access to advertisements, the more useless products they will buy. It is because advertising simply exaggerates the functions of products and attracts customers with a variety of methods.
Advertising usually magnifies the features of products, hindering people to make rational purchases. Companies make advertisements as if their goods are the best in the world. To be more specific, there is one MP3 which has same characteristics with other products. However, a company of the MP3 will say it has the best colors, the best music collections, the best buttons, the best ear phones, the best functions. Since people have no way to check whether the advertisement is true, they will believe the advertisement. Even though, they might not need a MP3, they think they have to buy it because they believe the MP3 will be optimal purchase for them. Eventually, they will buy it, but at the end, they will regret their choice. Therefore, advertising lead people to buy goods that they do not need by exaggerating traits of products.
Moreover, advertising attracts people to buy goods with lot of visual and sound effects, leading customers to think the product as the must-buy product. This is natural since that is the purpose of an advertisement. However, people could not make decent purchases. For example, when I was surfing the Internet, I found one pretty clothes in an advertisement. I was seriously considering whether I should buy it. At that time, there was a clock coming out from the advertisement, showing me there were only 20 clothes left. Thus, I rushed to make purchase and in the first time, I was happy. However, my friend told me that it was simple a simple method of the advertisement. In reality, there were a lot of stock left. By taking this example into account, I believe advertising obsruct people buy needed goods.
Considering these reasons, I firmly think advertising encourages people to buy goods they really do not need. Advertising is comprised of exaggerations and other methods, which virtually have no meanings.
