A workplace is a very important issue for all workers. Some people move from one company to another whenever they have a good chance. However, I strongly believe that staying at the same company for the whole life is much more beneficial than changing companies in that it ensures stability in careers and is easier to climb the ladder.
To start with, working at the same company makes certain that workers obtain career stability. It is less likely that they get fired or move around the company. This results in stable status in the company, affecting positively on the entire career life. For example, my father has worked in the same company for over 25 years. When he first entered the company, he was a bit intimidated to see his friends move to another company with better conditions. Now, he says that he has made a good choice to remain in the same company because some of his friends have problems in their jobs. It clearly shows that job stability is a significant factor in one's career life.
In addition, if one works at the same company for a long time, one is more likely to be promoted. In other words, working for a long period of time makes one loyal and attached to the company where one works, resulting in better performance in work which leads to promotion. For instance, my uncle has worked in a high-tech company for over 20 years. When he just started to work there, he was a mere worker in a lowest position. However, he is one of the managers in the high position now. He once said to me that such a promotion would have been impossible if he had left the company. He says he feels a deep affection for his company after such a long years of working there. It seems that he can work harder and more loyally because of deep attachment to the company.
To summarize, when people stay in the same company for a long time, they tend to get job stability and better promotion. Therefore, it would be wise for workers to remain in the same company even though there are some challenges. After all, they would feel proud and satisfied when they are about to retire. |
