These days, many students are inclined to study alone due to their hectic schedules. Some even say it is more effective because they can avoid wasting time for arranging plans with their friends. However, from my point of view, studying with a group of students is much more beneficial to students for two main reasons. First, Students can generate better results and are more likely to develop social skills by cooperation with other students.
First and foremost, studying in a group of students may help them learn more effectively, which eventually leads to good grades. It is common that students can learn and understand unfamiliar topics through discussion with their mates. Also, sharing useful information with each other allows them to broaden their horizon regarding academic subjects and students end up having satisfactory scores. To illustrate this point, I had hard time understanding social studies class so I decided to create a studygroup where any students who want to help each other understand the subject covered in class could join. Although it was not easy planning the exact time for all of us, I realized it was such a vaulable experience because through this group I could see what kinds of weak points I had in understanding the concepts from just listening to teachers. Additionally, by tutoring some other members of the group, I made clear that I do not have the wrong concepts. As a result, almost all of the group members did well in the fianl exams. This implies that studying in a group of students has a positive force that encourages students to get good results.
Moreover, students can strenghthen socail skills by studying with other students. In modern society, many students are so busy to death that they do not have many opportunities to have interaction with their class mates. IN tihs sense, studying with a group of students plays a pivotal role in building relationships. While studying, they can discuss the topic covered in class, talk about teaching styles of the teachers, and loosen the tightness built in their mind due to exams, essays and many projects. According to the study conducted by the Korean National Education Center, the more students study with their fellows, the better socail relationships are created. More than a fifty percent of students reports that they develop their friendships by studying with them. On the other hand, students who like to do their own studies mention they feel like they do not have true friends. In this regard, students can make their relationships when studying in a group of students.
To sum up, it is better to study in a group of students for the following reasons. Above all, it helps students to get a result that one is satisfied with. Also, it is necessary for students to build up good social skills. Although it seems like all students are busy enough to do their own studies, studying with other students is worthy at the expanse of their own precious time.
