There are many different opinions among people regarding whether space exploration is more necessary than envieonmental issues. Some may say that dealing with environmental issues is more important than any other issues, because they think environment is the most basic factor in our society. In my opinion, however, spcae exploration should have priority for the government than dealing with environmental issues, because there are many opportunities to develop and countless probabilities in space. This essay will show two aspects to support my opinion as follows: economic one and social one.
First of all, economically, exploring on space is more beneficial than dealing with environmental issues, because of its unrevealed values. For example, if the government succeed in spcae exploration, the government will be able to reward more. Some people may assert that investing in space is no guarntee of success. In such a situation, the government will try to invest more money in scientific area, and many young people may have goals of space exploration and be encouraged to study harder by the investing. This case implies that spcae exploration is an undeveloped area and the government deserves to invest in the space. Thus, the government should take priority over dealing with environmental issues.
On top of that, socially, succeding in space exploration is the way to be a strong country. It means that in the world, many powerful governments have abilities to send satlelites and rockets to space. In this situation, the powerful countries want to maintain their power and they may not want that other countries develop the spaceship. This case implies that having technology in space area in one's country is the way to make a strong government. So, many countries are trying to develop and invent spaceships, satelites, and rockets. Therefore, dealing with environmental issues is important not to much compared with exploring on space.
To sum up, exploration of space takes more priority for the governments than dealing with environmental issues in their countries. No other reason in my mind regarding this issue seems to outweigh the advantages of exploring on space as I mentioned above. |
