Some people prefer to learn something by books while others feel more comfortable with learning by gaining experience. However, even tough books seem to have more knowledge and information, learning as a person actually experience is more effective way and also relatively more important. People will apply the knowledge from experience to other things by themselves more easily than when they learn by books. Also, there are more valuable knowledge that can only be obtained from experience.
The knowledge gained from experience is more likely to linger in people's head for a long time. When people try to gain knowledge by books, it is pretty hard and sometimes boring. The knowledge from experience makes people be more interested in something and is easy to memorize. In addition, people can understand better. For example, people will find it easier to understand a scientific concept if they have a lab on it. They will approach to new knowledge without a big confusion and can apply it to other things easily by themselves.
There are more important knowledge which can only be gained from experience. Children learn how to behave properly towards other people in their household. It is something that can not be learned by books. Also, for surgeons, how to place or use the materials in operation room is learned from experience. Furthermore, if your friend struggles to figure out how to use his cell phone that he recently bought, explaining him the process step by step and making sure that he can operate the phone by himself will be more helpful than reading out the manual.
All in all, I agree to the statement that says “"Not everything that is learned is contained in books.”" The knowledge gained from experience is more important than from books in many ways. The knowledge remains longer in people's head and also there are many important knowledge that is only achieved when people actually experience something. |
