An intriguing topic of discussion is whether it is necessary to understand the past to solve the problems of the present and the futures or not. The answer to this question can vary varies greatly depending on the individual perspectives. Thus, the jury may still be out, as far as I concerend. I agree with the statement. In this essay, I will present two reasons supporting my standpoint as follows.
First of all, It is hard to find common things to understand contemporary characteristic more significantly from the past. This is because the standard of living is very different between the past and today. We are living in the information age. However, the truths we can draw from the past have a gap with the information age. Nowadays, many electronic merchandise is indispensibe in our life. Without computers, our society couldn't be last. But,However, there are unsimilar things such as normadic lifestyle and hunting that is which are not beneficial to solve the problems those we face today in the past.
On top of that, the information we learn from the past is not pragmatic. According to the survey that was investigated by the ministry of Korea Education, many students who are in high school replied the question, "Which of the subject do you think less pratical?". The results were history. Also, from my experience, I personally think history doesn't affects my lifestyle directly. So,Therefore, if i had not studied history in high school, I wouldn't have been regretted that. Moreover, the truth that many firms prefer students who are major in economics to students who are in history verify verifies my standpoint.
In conclusion, I strongly argue for my standpoint on account of the two reasons mentioned above. Once again, although the verdict may still be out, I personally believe that two of rationales are sufficiently convincing the viewpoints of majority of people who are in favor my claim.
