>The question of whether working in group or alone is not easy to answer as it might seem. Some people prefer to work alone for their personalities. In addition, there might be benefits by working alone. However, working in group seems to be preferable.
>One could get help from other working in groups. Group work was done since the ancient times. The ancient people always were in groups to survive, hunt, help, and live. If they did not live along the groups, the humanity may not have survived to the present. Even nowadays, people help each others as groups. Studygroup is one of the examples. Studygroup is a group for people who are studying for specific exam or subject to help each others. I was in various kinds of studygroup to prepare for many tests, and it has helped me greatly on the questions that I could not solve by working alone. Thus, working in groups is preferable.
>Working in groups can bring many different ideas. Since a group has a number of people, there are many different ideas or opinions. Having many ideas or opinions is always effective because the group can choose the best choice out of all the ideas or opinions. In contrast, opinion of a single person is quite limited. To illustrate, when I was in 8th grade, I was thinking what topic to choose for my science fair project. However, my ideas were limited since the only area I was interested in was biology. However, when I joined a group, there were many ideas to choose. Another example could be the democracy. The idea of democracy is to gather the opinions of the citizens to come up with the best choice for the country. On the other side, dictatorship, which a leader decides everything, only respects the decision of its leader. From these examples, it is clear that working in groups can bring many different ideas.
>Some people might say that one feels more free by working alone. However, with the reasons mentioned above, working in groups is preferable since people can share many ideas. |
