Weather It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city is a controversial issue ongoing debate. Different people have different answers in terms of this issue. Some people maintain that growing up in the countryside, especially children, is better than in a big city because It provides children to have a chance to enjoy the natural envirnment. I , however, think that living in a bity have more positive effects on children's lives than living in small town. There are numerous reasons why I hold on but I would explore only a few ones here.
To start with, growing up in the big city allows children to have many opportunities. One of them is that children can meet many different people because most of big cities are made up of people of different race, interests and abilities. Througth these experiences, children in a big city have more competition than those in a countryside in our socitey since these experiences help children broaden their perspective and expand their social net-work as well as understand others futher. Furthermore, There are a plethora of entertainments. Children living a big city can enjoy various kinds of entertainments namely movie therthers, museums and libraries. As a saying goes well "experience is better than the percept.", No one can deny that experience is very important. Since there are many chances to experience new things, I support that living in a big city is batter than in a countryside for children.
Moreover, living in a big city makes it possible for children to participate in a variety of programs which some of the finest universities offer for an academic purpose. In a word, Children living in a big city are able to have more opportunities to improve their intelligential abilities because most of famous universities are located in major big cities. Also they can approach libraries having a lot of up-dated information and materials with great ease.
All in all, definitely, I accept living in countryside have many merits but considering the reasons mentioned above, I believe that It not outweigh advantages of living in a big city. Therefore I think that It is better for children to grow up in a big city.
