Do you know Kim chi, Sushi, R&B, Samba and Maori? There are diverse cultures in the world when you travel all over the nation. However, these days, people are trying to make the world one for socializing and communicating each other. Some people may argue that university students should require taking at least one class that teaches the culture of a country other than their own. That’s because they believe that students should understand other countries’ cultures for globalization. However, I disagree with the issue for the following reasons.
To begin with, people own culture would die if university let students to take others nations’ cultures than their own. That’s because university students are trying to go overseas and not interest in their own culture. They should protect their own country’s culture. For example, in Korea, almost twenties don’t know much about their Asian history and culture comparing with elders due to the fact that they prefer Western culture. Accordingly, Korean culture will die soon because of indifferences from young students. University should require taking a class that instructs their own culture.
On top of that, university should consider each nation’s unique culture and develop individual custom to make the world special. Since people are trying to make the world one with the Internet, there is no special or distinctive culture. To illustrate, many students, in Korea, follow other countries’ dances, songs, language pronunciations, fashion and even their lifestyles. However, they should learn their unique culture, such as how to play Korean traditional instruments. In the same way, when other countries develop their won culture, the world will be enriching in many different and special cultures.
In conclusion, I strongly disagree with that university students must require to take at least one class that teaches the culture of a country other than their own. The reasons are that their own culture is dying and people have to make the world special with unique cultures. |
