I agree that the ability to cooperate with others is more important today than in the past. Since the worlds become globalized and technologies have been improved, the importance of cooperation has been increased. So, the globalization and the high technology are the major reasons for importance of cooperation.
To begin with, global issues can be solved only by working together. In the globalized world, the international problems such as issue related to environment or economy, concern many countries. Thus, countries have to solve these problems together. For example, the island country, Tuvalu has been measuring the height of tide each year; found that most of the farmland would be inundated by tide which height has been increased. This is caused by the climate, which can't be reversed by the effort of Tuvalu alone. So Tuvalu has appealed other countries for help. This means that international problems have to be dealt by cooperation of other countries.
In addition, various fields of companies have to affiliate with each other for success. To be specific, since the technology has been developed, the competition also has been increased. To survive from the competition with rivals, companies have to seek common profits with other companies in many different fields. Take cell phone for example. In the past, the cell phone was profitable even though it only functioned as phone. However, these days, the cell phone has many functions as camera, TV, dictionary or even has Internet access program in order to survive in the cell phone market. Thus, the cell phone company has to make hybrid cell phone and cooperate with other companies.
To sum up, today's society requires cooperation skill. This is because international issue has to be resolved with other countries, and because companies have to work together to success in the market place. |
