Leadership is one of the most important qualities that make people successful. Many people try hard to be good leaders even though they are not born to be great leaders. Considering all the efforts of great leaders had put, it seems clear that leadership is not an inborn quality; people learn it through various experiences and hard practices. Leadership is acquired by having real experiences. During our lives, we face many situations that we have to work with others, persuade and lead them. Some people fail to control these situations and get negative results. From these results, people learn life lessons of how to lead a number of people and realize what is wrong with their leadership. For example, some people might find out that their lack of confidence make others be distrustful of them. Then, they will try hard to fix their preexisting problems by being a person who seems like to have full of confident. Likewise, people learn from their experience and develop their leadership. Furthermore, successful leaders are hard-working people who never stop practicing. It clearly shows that leaders are not born, but made. Many qualities of a good leader cannot be achieved just by innate talents. To be specific, in order to give impressive speech as a leader, people should practice to speak loud, clear and convey their ideas in reasonable way which makes them attractive to audiences or voters. In this sense, people should be trained for a long time in order to be successful leaders. For example, the city mayor of Seoul who is famous for his elaborate speech was a child who was shy and afraid of speaking in front of others. However, by putting efforts, he has become one of the best leaders in the country. It means that successful leaders are made through practices. In conclusion, leaders are made by the firsthand experiences and continuous practices. Considering that great leaders were no more than average people when they were young, it seems obvious that everyone can be a great leader through efforts without innate qualities. |
