luck vs success |
"You won 100 million dollars for this lottery!" is the phrase that I really want to hear. It seems for me and other people that luck it is the easiest way to gain success. However, a fortune could not be called as success. In my opinion, the word success could be said to people who try their best for their dream. It is because only people who make an effort could grab chances for success and have passion. Opportunities for success could be only granted to people who diligently endeavor for their dreams. This is mainly because people who exert themselves to achieve goals could create conditions for success regardless of unfavorable situations. For example, many people in the world were shocked by Kim Youn Ha who is a figure skater. She won a silver medal in Grand Final and gold medals in various contests. However, she was not the best from the first time. She was just an ordinary Korean girl at the first time, in fact very poor that she could not have lessons or buy clothes for contests. Nonetheless, by having painstaking and intensive practices for 12 years, now no one will say she is just a one girl! She won a lot of international competitions and many companies such as Hyundai started to support her. Her effort made genuine success. Therefore, I believe hard work is essential for success. Moreover, people who make an effort to gain success could have passion. Passion is the driving force for people to be successful because it enables people to endure any difficulties. To be more specific, Ban Gi Mon who is the chief of the UN was a boy who lived in country side. Not to mention that there were no sources for him to learn foreign languages or at least get proper education. However, he kept one phrase in his mind “I can to it, there in noting that I can't do it". Then, he just struggled to seize his dreams. He studied 15 hours a day for 30 years. Even though he had many troubles, he could tolerate it by keeping his passion in his mind and endeavoring to be successful. Eventually, he became a leader of the most powerful international organization; the UN. Thus, I believe only people who try their best could succeed because they could have power to endure hard time. In conclusion, considering these reasons, I firmly think hard work is more important that luck for success. Proverb, "heaven helps those who help themselves' will describe what success is. |
