There are many different opinions among people regarding whether 20 years later people use paper books or not. Some may say that paper books will still exist after 20 years, because reading with paper books is more accustomed to people. In my opinion, however, 20 years later, the paper books will be replaced by e-books. This essay will show two aspects to support my opinion as follows: a technological aspect and an economic one. First of all, technologically, more developed computers or reading devices will appear in 20 years, so people will not use thick and massive paper books. For example, people want to use lighter and more portable books to read anywhere they want. In this situation, smaller and lighter reading devices are developed for modern readers, and more people tend to buy thin and light e-books. This case implies that people have a tendancy of reading with e-books rather than old fashioned paper books. Thus, people will not use paper books after 20 years.
On top of that, in an economic aspect, people can save their money by using e-books instead of buying paper books every times. It means that people have to buy paper books when they want to read and those books are published with high costs. However, if people once buy e-books, even the devices are expensive, they do not need to pay for the articles not much. In addition, the cost of devices are decreasing because of competition among the companies which make e-books. Also, people may use the devices semipermenantly, if they do not break the machines. Therefore, paper books will disappear in 20 years since people will buy e-books.
To sum up, I firmly insist that there will be new e-books for readers, and the devices will replace the paper books in 20 years. No other reason in my mind regarding this issue seems to outweigh the advantages that I mentioned above.
