There is an ongoing debate over whether mass media affects children in a positive way of not. Some people might say that it seems clear that television shows and movies have adverse impact on young students because they can easily access to a provision of violence played by actors and actress. However, contrary to this notion, I strongly believe that programs on TV are beneficial to children. The rationale behind this is that these devices can be used for educational function and also it is very efficient in saving money and time.
First of all, screen related materials play an important role for children by means of education. This is largely because TV and movie give people secondhand experience ranging from other people's life to scientific knowledge which is likely to open new world and imaginative contents to those who have lots of curiosity, kids. First of all, one of my cousins, whose name is Chulho, enjoys watching movies about traveling. He is only nine years old, second year in his elementary school, however many people including his teacher and his family are sometimes surprised by his knowledge of other countries. Since he is interested in traveling, he is also indulged in history, arts, and even religion. Therefore, his dream is obvious, even though he is just nine years old which is to become a traveler who wander all over the world and find a perfect place to visit. In this sense, by secondhand experience provided by movies and television, students actually are able to learn valuable lessons.
On top of that, secondhand experience by media saves time and money. The important reason is that even though memories obtained directly through travel or filed trip would last long and have impact on people's life in larger scale, not all men can get these opportunities because of lack of money and time. Therefore movies and television is likely to be a number one alternative. From my own experience, since I'm working at a marketing field, I have to deal with various types of people. Therefore analyzing individuals' characteristic is crucial. I usually gain lots of types of people by watching movies because I don't have enough money and time to get meeting with those who live in different area. Besides according to the survey made by KBC, which collects data about successful people in their job, about 70 percent of people having careers in marketing fields tend to obtain information about individuals' personality by watching movies or television. Therefore is seems clear that media saves time and money by providing secondhand experience.
