It is controversial whether all teachers should update their knowledge every five years or not. Some people say that it is not essential because they usually teach only basal information. However, I strongly agree with this statement for two reasons: teachers have to give their students novel knowledge and updating their knowledge can prevent them from being lazy.
To begin with, teachers have a an obligation that they should teach fresh knowledge to their students. As one might expect, the rate of improving the technology and knowledge is sharply increasing today. Thus, teachers have to replace their old knowledge into new one and teach them for students. Using my personal experience as an example, when I was a high school student, I heard a new information that a new ancient species was found in South Africa from my cousin, who was an archaeologist. I wanted to glean more information about the discovery, and so I went to a science teacher in my high school. However, he did not know and was not even interested in the species about it. Consequently, I could not catch get the chance to learn about the news more.
On top of that, the updating their knowledge can prohibit the teachers from being sluggish. To be specific, many teachers do not have efforts to fortify their ability and knowledge. That is because they teach only basement or light advancement of some subjects. According to a study conducted by the National Research Foundation of Korea, many teachers show that they feel pretty bored in their work places since they teach the same class for over many years. When they heard this opinion, of updating their knowledge periodically, they hailed it and even expect to improve their knowledge.
To sum up, teachers should keep up with the rate of emerging new knowledge and keep themselves devoted. In conclusion, I believe that it is necessary for teachers to revise the knowledge that they have known.
