▶ Your Answer :
People have their own ideas about on whether an individual should insist on persist his dream that is full of challenge instead of pursuing a realistic dream. Some people may say that realistic goal is easier and faster to be achieved under an ordinary way. In my opinion, however, it is better to seek ambitious dreams than the realistic goals: most development comes from the challenge of ambitious goals and people who pursue their ambitious dreams live a happy life.
First, if people do not try to reach their ambitious dreams, there will be no development. It is generally agreed that the progress of our human history is full of events of individuals who were devoted to their big dreams and these were just what make us move forward. Therefore, more efforts and challenges for ambitious dreams should be carried out. For example, Thousands thousands of years ago, if our ancestors did not want to fight with the nature for their dreams of surviving of survivals, today we may still live in the cave and eat rough animal meet. Hundreds of years ago, if Columbus failed to challenge the hard marine time and gave up his great dream, the continent of America may still remained mysterious and inaccessible to us all. Decades ago, if Bill Gates abandoned his dream of inventing computer and software and continued his law courses, perhaps today, and now I will have to do a paper based TOEFL test, because iBT may never exist. In this way, being eager to translate their ambitious dreams into reality is valuable.
Second, most people who seek big dreams that is full of challenge will live happy life lives more than those of being which are satisfied with his or her little realistic dream. Some people might say that when people hold their realistic dreams, they will be less probably to face the risk and trouble compared to the individuals who always pursue challenges. However, following their realistic goal is not always good because a sense of achievement getting something easily is not long-lasting. To illustrate, according to the research of the Korea Times, more than eighty percent of people who succeeded their ambitious their dreams say that it is not always good to try only to follow one’s realistic goal. They also add that coming from a sense of achievement through ambitious dreams is much bigger than that of realistic goals and the feeling of satisfaction leads them to happy life. Therefore, we can say that ambitious dreams are one thing that can result in true to a truly happy life.
