It is unrealitic for people to work at the same company for their entire life. |
In a volatile society and fast advancing technology, maintaining only one job for one’s entire life is inappropriate. Some people advocate the idea that once people find their life-long dream job, they should maintain it until they retire. However, our society is fast-moving and high technology is being developed at the moment, which indicates that people’s interests change and they need to adjust to a variety range of developments. To begin with, as people age, what attracts them and what they pursue become disparate. This is natural because people steadily change their ideology as they accumulate many experiences. To illustrate this, my father was an accountant . He chose the job because he was in favor of numbers when he was younger. However, he decided to have a different vocation after he assisted his friend to build a fancy house in the countryside and now he is a carpenter. He always tells us that it’s such a good idea to find one’s own interest despite how old he/ she is. Moreover, we see new gadgets, such as digital cameras, cellure phones , and many computers replacing human hands. Therefore, some factory workers have lost their jobs after their workplace adapted state-of-art computerized machines. My friend’s father was one of them. He had a kind of a job sorting CDs by hand in a plant. One day the owner of the factory called him and said they didn’t need some of the workers any more, so he had to quit the job but few workers, most of whom were mechanics remained. If he had known his doom beforehand, he wouldn’t be suffering from financial hardship now. To sum up, persisting one job for a life time is unpredictable and unwise. To keep face with the rapidly evolving society, people should be aware of new technologies. Also people should make sure that what they are into now don’t guarantee that they’ll like them forever. |
