Some people say that advertising is wasteful companies’ money or time. However, I disagree with the opinion for the following several reasons. First, companies are able to make customers known them. Second, they can secure their lasting buyers.
To begin with, nowadays, a number of companies advertise their goods in a variety of mass media such as television and radio in order to sell more their products. This is because advertising is one of the most effective ways to attract buyers’ attention. Let me take my experience for example. I worked at a furniture company several years ago. Although merchandise of my company was so good, those was not popular because many people didn’t know my company and its goods’ superiority. So my company had to undergo hardship due to few incomes. However, the situation was solved by an idea of one of my co-workers. She proposed to advertisements her company’s products. At the first time, her supervisor didn’t receive her idea because he thought that advertisements are a waste company’s money. However, she consistently asserted her view and eventually the supervisor agreed with her opinion that advertisements are effective means which are able to announce that her company’s wares are excellent for their customers. My company advertised goods through television. After a month, the advertising brought about surprising results more than my expectation which my company would be able to earn as much as invested money in the advertising.The volume of sales became over twice as much and my company was able to earn far much money than investing in the advertisement. At that time, I recognized how important for companies advertising is.
Next, companies can have old customers who prefer their wares to other company’s ones. According to a recent report, most of people tend to trust large companies’ wares, especially ones of firms advertising more themselves. Also, a latest survey released by one of the largest companies in Korea, called Samsung shows that most of their buyers knew its goods at the first time through the company’s advertising and purchased them. Moreover, the customers answered that they usually buy goods of a large company that appeals their products via advertisements because they don’t want to take a risk of buying unreliable products, so they have continued buying wares made in the company, and they are going to do so in the future. In this point, companies will be able to stimulate their customers to repeatedly purchase products from their company if they use advertisements.
In conclusion, I disagree with the statement that advertising is a waste companies’ time or money for the reasons I mentioned above. First, companies are able to make buyers known their own firm name and products. Second, they could lead their customers to buy again. |
