It is often said that schools should help students to find their calling. This is the reason why many schools try to offer students knowledge of careers and jobs. However, schools should teach-> 그냥 단순히 가르쳐야 한다가 아니라 should majorly focus on teaching students general subjects and knowledge for two reasons. First, students should be exposed to as many options as possible so that they can find their own way. Also, students may under-> may go under too much stress due to the profound and contemplate studies.
To begin with, schools should provide general education to students in order to help them to find their calling. Students do not know what they want to achieve in their life. It is school’s responsibility to help them to find one. For example, before I go-> went into the university, I wanted to study science. I made that decision because-> 왜냐하면정도가 아니라 오직 이러했기 때문에이므로 only because, or just because most of my friends had chosen it. However, taking few computer classes in the university, I realized that I want to be a computer programmer. I did not know this was my calling-> 이 표현은 기독교적인 용어로 나의 부르심을 따라 길을 가다.라는 뉘앙스가 있습니다. because my high school did not provide any computer subject. Now I am studying computer science and I am happy about it.
In addition, students will be under stress. Professional studies require high concentration and knowledge. Students may feel exhausted before they actually get the job. To illustrate, one of my friend got into the nursing college. During the school years, she only studied nursing and hospitalizing. Before she actually became a nurse, she was sick of nursing job. She now does not have any enthusiasm of her job. It must have been much better for her if the school did not give too much pressure on her.
-> 단순히 pressure를 준다는것은 모든 학교와 공부에서 있을 수 있는일입니다. 질문에서와같이 career를 prepare하게 도와야 하느냐 말아야하느냐에 대한 답변이 되지는 못해보입니다 :)
To conclude, schools should offer students general subjects rather than focusing on building careers or preparing jobs. This is because students need time to think of their perfect job. Furthermore, studying profound subjects will be too much burden to students which made them eventually feel exhausted. |
