There are ongoing debate over whether today young people do little to help their communities.
Some people believe that today young generation contribute to their communities However, I argue that today young people do not do what help their communities because they are more selfish than the past generation and give up participating in society themselves.
To begin with, Young people today are more selfish than the past generation. Young people today are not educated to help other because they win other in competitive education. They only think of their work or future. Thus, They do not afford to contribute to their society. For example, in the past, children are raised in the extended family that has many family members. The elder people teach the younger generation to live with other or contribute to their society. But, these day, young people are raised in small family that has a few family member. Parents are too busy working to for young people to have little chance to be taught to think of others or help communities. In these reason, today young people become selfish not thinking of their communities.
On top of that, young people today give up taking part in communities. They are just satisfied with what the past generation established because the past generation makes society stable and economically developed. They do not know well about the hardship and live a life without a trouble. For example, in the past, our society is not stable politically and economically undeveloped, especially in my country, Korea. So young people in the past demonstrate for democracy or do their work hard to develop our country with the belief. However, today young people do not participate in communities actively because society is stable politically and developed economically. For these reason, today young people give up participating in communities.
In conclusion, young generation today do little to contribute to their communities because they are more selfish than elder people and give up participating in society. In this regard, we encourage young people to take a part in society for our future. |
