There are many kinds of people who have different interests and personalities. I concede that it seems little thinkg to share with. However, in Korea, since with the new challangable trand and the very competitive circumstance actually makes people like someone who are not like them. So I disagree with the statement.
First of all, people in korea tend to make various friends instead of choosing friend from what they like. Some people might prefer meeting few friends they like. However, most people like to make many kinds of friends. There are many kinds of activities that allows people meet others without knowing much of others. Many of people like to join these activities in order to have fun of getting to know others. Sometimes it seems more like challanging behaviors to meet new friends. Regarding to Korean on-line web survery, 70% of Korean teenager students make friends from the web-sites that allows them to meet others with different background. This survey result claims that people tend to become more interested to others who are not like themselves. With different interests and different personalities, getting to know each others makes people verry excited.
Moreover, people mostly like friends who are not like them because they cannot be their competitor. Since Korean society has become very competitive, it is very serious to be compared especially with friends. For example, a person who are preparing for the job interview tris to avoid meeting people who are taking the same interview. The person would feel more comfortable to someone who have totalliy different interest and different job interview schedule. Likewise, people feel welcome to the friends who have different interests and abilities.
To sum up, people feel comfertable who have different background because these friends are not their competitors. Also, people tend to challange meeting new friends with different interests which actually makes them more excited. As a result, people who have different interests and personality can be friends. |
