It is often said that the Internet helps students learn effectively. Some people may be opposed to this statement because they believe there are plenty of useless information on the Internet. However, in my opinion, using the Internet has benefits for students because we can easily access much information and take online courses at our home.
To begin with, getting a wide range of information via the Internet is very convenient. This is because we can get to the information which we want to have at the click of a button. It allows us to save our time. For example, I got an assignment to submit report on Jazz music last semester but I didn’t have any knowledge about Jazz since I was not interested this genre at all. However, when I surf the Internet, I could get lots of resources about Jazz and did my homework. If I had searched for information by reading materials such as books and journals, it would have taken several weeks for me to finish the homework.
In addition, online courses through the Internet is helpful for those with busy lives. This is due to the fact that in our current society many people cannot take a lecture because of their busy lives. One of the best example is my best friend Tom. He wanted to learn Chinese but he couldn’t take a lecture. This is because he had not enough time to earn a living. Then he decided to take a online lecture and learned Chinese throught the Internet after work. If it had not been for online courses, he would have not leanred Chinese.
All things considered, the Internet encourages students to study for several reasons. Not only can they get lots of resources on the web, but also they can take online courses. That is why I think the Internet is very helpful space for students.
