Opinions vary regarding whether the best way to relax and reduce stress is to spend your time alone. I disagree with the statement for the following two reasons. For one thing, if I spend time together others, there are more methods to reduce and relax stress such as sports than being alone, and I can sustain and improve relationship with friends, coworkers, and family at the same time.
First of all, people can enjoy a variety of methods of leisure to release their stress by being together. Some people say that spending time alone is a good way to reduce stress since people do not need to consider others. However, being alone will be a less entertaining experience then being with others. Thus, I think that spending time with others helps people to have a complete rest by reducing their stress. According to a study conducted by Korean National Research Center, 65 percent of surveyed people answered that they prefer to have contact with others, such as friends and family, rather than to spend time alone during their free time. Based on the study, many of them play at sports activities in order to reduce their stress. In this sense, it is not a good means for people to spend time alone in order to release their stress.
In addition, if people have contact with others in order to recharge their batteries during their free time, they can maintain and enhance relationship with them, which have a positive effect on achieving people’s goals. In these days, many people face fierce competition with their friends and coworkers. The problem with this is that they tend to consider their friends and coworkers as competitors and rarely sustain close relationship with them. So, I claim that if they are with others for stress-free, they can go for the effect of killing two birds with one stone, decreasing their stress and maintaining good relationship. Take my case as an example. During my high school years, I was in competition with my classmates in order to reach my academic goals. In this context, I was overwhelmed with a serious stress. However, after sports activities with my classmates, I could reduce my stress, and improve relationship with them, which help me to achieve my academic success. If I had not had contact with them in order to release my stress, I might not have reached my academic goals.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that it is the best means for people to spare time to reduce and relax stress with others because it helps people to enjoy sports activities and to maintain good relationship with them. |
