As 21st century starts, Internet became more available for many people. Some people argue that with the help of Internet, students now can learn more effectively. However, after closer inspection, it is evident that Internet, on the other hand, became useless for students. This is not only because there is too much information on Internet, but also online classes are waste of time.
To start, the advantage of the Internet, abundant information, became the disadvantage. As there is too much information on Internet, it became burden for netizen, the combination word of Internet and citizen, to arrange them and decide which one is trustworthy. For example, last summer, I had to do a science project. As a method to research, I relied on Internet. However, when I received my grade, it was a disaster as I used wrong information for my project. From this incident, I do not trust the information on Internet anymore.
In addition, online classes are waste of time. This is mainly because many online classes have little feedback. By comparing online classes with the real lecture, students cannot ask questions when they listen to the online classes and cannot get comments from them. Also, sometimes their qualities are notably low, as it is hard to decide whether it provides lots of information before we listen to them. For instance, a friend of mine started to listen to online math classes, as he had low grades on math. However, he disappointed after listening to the online lecture, as the teacher did not teach him well and also he couldn’t ask questions.
To sum up, it is not an effective way for students to learn, as there are too abundant amount of information which is hard to get through and untrustworthy and also online classes are sometimes a waste of time for students. Although Internet can give much benefits for other purposes, but not for educating students. |
