Opinions vary regarding whether it is better to spend more time with your family than at work. I agree with the statement for the following two reasons. For one thing, I can maintain solid relationship with my family member. Additionally, I can lead a happy and comfortable life.
First of all, we have to spend more time with our family member in order to sustain good relationship with them. In these days, we are bound and driven by hectic schedules. The problem with this is that we feel isolated and can increasingly spare little time for our family member. In this sense, spending time with our family is preferred over being at work. Take my cousin case as an example. My cousin had always spent their time at work in order to achieve their career success, which caused him to be indifferent to their family events such as his children’s winning mathematics contest. He was often overwhelmed with heavy workload on holiday. As time goes by, he did not feel united with his family member. Eventually, he became excluded from many crucial family events, and he did even not know less about his family than his family’ friends and neighbors. In this context, having frequently contact with our family member is a good way for us to maintain close relationship with them.
In addition, a happy life can be achieved by being with family rather than reaching success in our career. Nowadays, we face fierce completion in society, which force us to spend more time at work. As a result, we are gradually uninterested to the value of family life in comparison to that of career success. Thus, I claim that being with our family outweigh attaining our career success. According to a study conducted by Korean National Research Center, 64 percent of surveyed CEOs answered that they regret spending less time with their family member. Based on the study, they think that having frequent contact with their family is a unique way for them to feel comfortable. However, they cannot spend more time with them because they have to finish a lot of their works, which make CEOs feel tension and stress.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that we have to spend more time with our family since it help us to sustain close relationship with them and lead a happy and enjoy life. |
