When people often confront to do the things that they do not enjoy doing, they can have two opposite response on this; whether to do or not. I, on this subject, firmly agree with the idea that people should sometimes do things that they do not enjoy. There are two reasons to support my opinion.
First of all, by doing some things not enjoyable, I can let other people do enjoyable things instead. I believe that giving happiness to others through my sacrifice is one of the ways I can be happy. Like one wisdom says, ‘One’s sacrifice can lighten other people’s burden.’ It is good to know that I can give joy to a lot of people by sacrificing myself. For example, there was a job required in my class that one student should empty garbage cans every morning. No one was willing and every one seemed to be afraid of their name being called. When I willingly stood up to do it, all of my classmates could be happy.
Second of all, a lot of great people in the history pushed themselves forward to reach their goal, sometimes doing not enjoyable things. There should be no doubt that those times of painful time affected and resulted success in various ways in their life. This case is prominent in the life of religious leaders; such as Sakyamuni, Muhammad, and Jesus. They taught that people need to surrender their life to find the truth and to follow God in which to me that people have to think not only themselves.
In conclusion, people should sometimes do things that they do not enjoy doing because people can make more people pleasant by taking unwanted job and can also learn from the lessons that the great people revealed through their life time. In these senses, I firmly agree with the thought that people should do not enjoyable works when they face them. |
