선생님이나 상사가 내가 열심히 한 일을 appreciate 하지 않았을 때 극복한 방법과 Lesson
In university, I took the class which is about project management. In that class, I learned how to handle confronting problems of company. My professor usually gave a lot of questions to students, to gather better ideas and solutions. Also, he encouraged students to make groups, and make a discussion. While I shared my opinion with teammates, we debated about the issue of the way of increasing productivity. Then, professor required us to present our idea. As a team leader, I announced our team’s idea to other groups. However, while I was talking, professor gave me keen pointing out about the issue. In front of other students, professor criticized our suggested solution. However, I thought that this is the best solution for given situation. Hence, I refuted him with my own supporting but he rejected.
After the ashamed experience in front of other classmates, I had another opportunity to represent our group’s idea again. In that chance, I had enough time to prepare presentation, so I worried about the way of suggesting my idea. How to show my opinion effectively was the problem. While searching the internet, I read one article about the effective way of suggesting one’s idea. Through that article, the author told me to give the second best idea first. If better idea comes after the second best one, it would improve the original best one’s power of persuasion. I thought that this way could be great solution for my problem.
Therefore, in presentation, I gave the second best idea first. Then I explained that there is much better way of solving problem and suggested the best solution that our team prepared. Professor seemed satisfied a lot. In that moment, I sighed with the feeling of relief. After learning the effective way to increase power of persuasion, I usually use this strategy to achieve my purpose. I learned the fact that using speaking strategy sometimes can be way of solving problem.
