▶ Your Answer :
Thomas Edison’s first teacher was his mother. By pulling him out of school where
Edison’s curiosity was ignored, his mother encouraged his
creative thinking. Even though some might say professional teachers possess
best qualities as teachers, I think that parents make the best teachers for
following reasons.
Foremost,
parents are usually the first teachers. Children learn a wide array of things
from their parents: from bathing themselves to learning an alphabet. By being a
first observer of their children, they are apt to figure out each child’s personality and eventually a fit learning environment. Distinctive
environments are likely to reap benefits.
Secondly,
parents possess vital characteristics as teachers: patience. Being parents
often require tremendous amount of patience. Parents are used to being patient
by enduring years of arduous child raising processes. Like learning, teaching also
takes patience. Even if their children can not comprehend a problem, parents
can repeat the teaching process continuously. Some might say teachers also
possess patience. However, no patience is sturdy as that of parents.
Thirdly,
Parents not only convey knowledge, but also convey a valuable life lesson. While
teachers only teach intellectual knowledge, parents teach things such as etiquette,
kindness and other crucial life lessons. If children only learn intellectual
knowledge, they will not be a functioning member of a society. Thus, parents
should be a primary resource for education.
In
the course of history, it is been proven that many genius were first recognized
and educated by their parents. Parents are the best teachers because they are
most apt to provide various educational methods and other social skills that
children need.
