University students should take classes in many different subjects.
Many colleges have a policy every student who attends school should take variety types of subject, for instance, take a class in literature, science, art and sports at least more than one course before they graduate school. This is because that school faculty believes that such a method taking as variety as classes helps students to broaden their knowledge and profound their thinking.
So I also agree that University students should take classes in many different subjects with reasons follow.
First, every study relates to each other. To understand one part of theory and concept, students need to learn other part of knowledge. If a student majors of culinary, the student must take classes for chemistry, math, public hygienic and any other classes as a requirement. This is because, to follow and to understand well the study, these courses should be taken.
In detail of explanation of this idea, in case of cooking class, students will use how to measure the ingredients before they start to cook. To divide the low materials, students will use the knowledge of math, a fraction and also need a minimum of unit for Kg and Lb, g, ml, etc.
Second, taking many different classes helps to think flexible and give creativity. This would be benefit when students work in the society or choose their jobs and find their talents. As we know, Steve Jobs is a very well known person as a founder of the Apple computer. When he started to make a personal computer, he said that his previous experience was very helpful to design the font of his software. According to him, before he opened his business, once he took class of typo-graphs just for his personal curious and interests. He testified later, he never thought that classes led him to bring great success in his business. Another example of American is a writer Ms. Rachel Conner. When she entered the college she initially wanted to become a writer for fiction. However, after she took a biology class she changed her major from literature to biology, and then went on to study biology sector. Later this experience led her to write a book “Silent Spring” which is the book first point out the serious of using pesticide in agriculture.
Like these people noted above, variety types of class help students develop their creativity and find talents.
In conclusion, someone may not agree this idea. However, I strongly believe that University students should take as many as different subject to more doing their study and for developing their potential abilities.
