It is generally said that being happy with a job is more important than having a high salary. Some people might disagree with the statement because the main reason of having a job is to earn money that enables one to live out and raise one's children. I, however, believe that being happy with a job is increasingly becoming important.
First of all, many people nowadays pursue the good qulaity of life, rather than making huge money. Everyone knows that people want to live satisfactorily as they are getting well off. There is reliable research to support this phenomenon. According to Gallup, one of most famous research institutes, 70% of respondents said that they want to have a job thay can feel they are pursuing something worthwhile. They also responded that if the job is meaningful to them, they are willing to choose that job even though it pays less. Researcher pointed out that people believe getting a meaningful job would bring them more amount of satisfaction. It implicates that people are more likely to enhance their quailty of life, instead to storing much of money in their bank accounts.
Furthermore, doing a job one enjoys, no matter what the salary is, makes a difference in how well he or she performs. As everyone knows, all of the great leaders are someone who really love what they are doing. To illustrate my uncle's experience, for example, he loves communicating others and promoting other's potential to be exerted. However, he mistakenly had choosed his first job as an accountant, the pretty much sedentary job. Five years later, he boldly made a decision to begin his own enterprise that focuses on web-education, the area he can really enjoy. Even though it was more risky and sometimes less financially rewarding, he made his every effort, because he liked doing his work and feel more satisfaction. In the end, he became one of the top leaders in his industry, gaining both honor and fortune. As this example shows, doing one's favorite is far more likely to make better results.
To summarize, people wish to live good life, and do one's favorite even in the work place. Although making money is also important, it might not be the first priority to select a job for many people. In this sense, no one can deny that being happy with a job is more important than having a high salary.
