Some peope say that maintaining zoos is no longer worthwhile in today's society. However, I strongly believe that zoo is important place even in thdren society for the following two reasons. First, zoos protect endangerd animals from risk of the extinction. Second, zoos is a good educational tool for children to learn about animals.
First of all, zoos protect endangerd animals from risk of extinction. Because of ongoing urbanization and industrialization, many animals are losing their habitats in modern society. In addition, most animals have faced risk of extinction. So zoos could provide such animals with favorable conditions where animals can avoid this risk. For example, since foundation of zoo in 1907, zoos have protected many animals from a threat. In particualr, Korean tigers and black bear is the proper examples. These animals are provided favorable habitats by zoos. In this sense, It is obvious that maintaining zoos contribute to the successful adjustment of animals.
Second, zoos is one of the important educational tool for children. In general, people think that it it possible for children to learn about animals by watching TV or video. However, I think that knowledge from mass media or books cannot be compare to the vivid experience required from a visit to a zoo. Take my experiance as an example. When I visited a zoo at first, I was fascinated to feed on animals and observe them up close. It was a vivid experience and wonderful time in my life. I could learn about animals and wildlife. In this regard, visiting zoos is the unforgetable experience and good educational fools for chiledren. In this context, it is clear that zoos is the one of the important educational tools.
In conclude, I strongly believe that maintain zoos must be maintained for the following reasons. First, zoos provide many animals with favorable habitats and protect these animals from risk of extinction. Second, zoos is important educational tools children to learn about animals. For these reasons, the benefits that zoos bring to us should not be underestimated. |
