Childhood is the most important years in life for their intellectual development. Do you agree?

There are different opinions regarding whether participating in many intellectual activities during childhood is beneficial for their intellectual development. It is a widely accepted fact that the brain is able to accept information the most actively during childhood. Even so, I strongly believe that people’s brain activities are not related to a certain period, and thus considerable intellectual development is possible at any time. In this essay, I will explain my idea by presenting two reasons as follows.
First, it is not always true that intellectual development during a certain period is important because the degree which human being can make the intellectual development up to is limitless. In other words, considering that it has been already accepted fact that human’s brain power is limitless, the assertion that a certain period is important for brain development is hard to accept. There are a lot of cases where old-age people make a considerable development in intellectual activities. In my case, my father, who was 55 years old at that time, got a license only one year after he started to study that is hard for young-age to get. With the consideration of the average period that people take to get the license, I am convinced that the intellectual development is not related to the person’s age but to his effort.
Secondly, the brain activities at the end of maturation can make more intellectual development than in the middle of it. During the period when people are not mature physically or mentally, the brain tends to concentrate its energy on the body or awareness, while it can give its best over intellectual development at the end of maturation. In that children try to be aware of something around them during childhood, it is hard for them to make intellectual achievements such as academic and scientific subjects. There is much more opportunities to develop intellect at the end of physical and mental maturation.
In conclusion, based on what I have just mentioned, I’m convinced that intellectual development is not related to a certain period.
