It has been many years since the television came into our lives. Since then, there was always a controversy between people. Some people said that TV has destroyed communication among friends and family. Some people denied that by saying that TV did not do anything to destroy communication. I agree with people who assert that TV destroyed communication among friends and family.
Above all, people tend to spend most of their free time in front of TV. Before TV was invented, all you can do in your free time was to hang around with friends, or talking with families. At that time, there was a lot of communications between people, especially between friends and families. Nowadays, TV has cut down most of it. Even when there is time for playing with friends or talking with families, most people choose to kill time in front of TV. TV is a great time-killer. No one can deny that. It is very comfortable to rest in front of TV, throwing all your stresses out. However, if you spend free time in front of TV, there is no time to spend for friends and families. Free time is the only time you can spend with family or friends. You cannot hang out with friends when you have to study. However, even that free time has been taken away by TV. In this sense, TV has definitely contributed on destroying communication between friends and families.
On top of that, you can’t do anything else while you are watching TV. Absolutely no communication is ideal for watching TV. Even a small sound makes you frustrated. There is no way you can communicate with anyone while watching TV. However, it is possible to communicate while you are doing something different. For example, while you are cooking together, going for a walk together, or debating about something together, it is very likely for you to communicate with your mates or families. If you are watching TV together, even one word can make them frustrated. TV has destroyed communication by sending out some fun programs. It is so fun that it is very frustrating when people try to communicate with you.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that TV has destroyed our communication between close people for two reasons I mention before. We spend most of the time in front of the TV, and we can’t do anything else while you are watching TV.
