It can be a controversial issue whether luck plays a pivotal role in success or not. Personally, I strongly agree with the idea that people’s succeed is result of their hard working not because of their luck. The rationale behind this is, I believe, when the one wants something badly and try hard enough, he must get it. Moreover, the earning from only luck cannot be lasted long.
To begin with, strong willing lead people success regardless of luck. Some people argue that success is mostly depends on luck and they blame their failing on unluckiness. However, I think, If you work hard enough, one day you would get chances, but even there was a chance, if you were not prepared, you would lose it. For instance, I had a cousin who was very intelligent and smart. She was always in top three in her high school. However she could not go to a university that she wanted to enter due to a mistake on the university entering examination which is hold only once a year. At the time she seemed to desperate and lost her luck, but she restarted to study, even harder. In the end, next year she could get into an even better university. If she had given up, she never would have succeeded to achieve her goal.
Furthermore, the success without trying easily disappears from hands. Sometimes people get advantages without doing anything. The problem with this is that they do not know how to deal with what they have got. Accordingly, they cannot keep an opportunity. Once research had been conducted about how are lottery winner’s lives after they won. According to the report, surprisingly, most of them were not happy, even worse, some were less happier than before receiving money. As this illustrates, the luck you did not deserve would not just let you succeed.
To sum up, I agree with the quotation; when people succeed, it is because of hard work, Luck has nothing to do with success. Above all, no matter what, someone who tries hard enough, in the end, will succeed. Moreover when not deserved person gets something, he will lose it again. For these reasons, It is quiet evident that success is closely related to the hard working not luck, like this old proverb goes; heaven helps those who help themselves.
